KoL item price reports

Somebody's made graphs of the prices of items in a MMPORG Kingdom of Loathing. It's awesome. There seems to be a lot of deflation going on.

The one thing linking this "meat" market to reality is that you can buy a "Mr. Accessory" for 10$ US in real life from the guy who runs KoL. Here's the graph of how much "meat" that's worth in the game: Graph

This game is a silly hhgttg style rpg, but it's actually got a really sophisticated semi-automated market.

This game is also interesting (and safer than most online games) in that it limits how much time you can play - you can only fight monsters 40 times per day. Other stuff like buying and selling is free though. A lot of your time is spent cooking food and getting drunk in order to get more "adventures". Instead of controlling the market by making most things rare, the game controls it by limiting how many chances you have to get things. It takes the advantage away from people with a high tolerance for boredom.
