This is a NOT gate done in minesweeter. the position of x and x' was switched.

This is apparently an AND gate. Some guy showed how you can simulate arbitrary circuits in minesweeper. Therefore he showed that solving minesweeper is equivalent to solving random AND, OR, NOT circuits. Apparently that problem is NP hard, so so is minesweeper! Who knew? That is cool as hell. It was sitting under my nose all those hours I played minesweeper and I never thought of it.

Someone's finally written a really good minesweeper page, too.

Sounds like a cult doesn't it?

Russia detected a US nuke launch in the 80s but he knew it was an error and didn't nuke us back.

Jesus.

Black- traditional characters. Red- what they were simplified to. I've looked for a big list of all the simplified chinese characters and what they used to be for a long time and never found one.

Worse than nixon. Just wait.

This is a bank card for "Chine Construction Bank".  Did they make
that animal be shaped like China on purpose?  If so
the ass is Tibet, the udders are Yunnan (poor mountainous region), he's
looking away from north
korea, and about to kick taiwan.  I live in the middle of the
right star.

Fight, Japan!  (Ganbare, Nihon).  Found on a japanese img
bbs.  god damn.

A random person on chinese AIM told me about this nice chinese img
bbs.

A chinese street.  A bunch of dudes sitting around plaing cards
on a tarp or old newspapers is a common sight.  This guy is
particularly cool though, I don't know what's going on with his arms.

Construction.  You often see construction guys sleeping at the
work site.  I've heard they're mostly illegal migrant workers who
have no rights and don't get paid until the project is completed.
So if it goes bust they're screwed.  Just like 19th century
america.

Yuuka, japanese pinup girl, photoshopped into a chinese 50 rmb bill. I
don't get it.

Can you guess what it says?  I don't get it all but I think the
girl's shirt says "I'm yours forever".  This is a variant of the
normal chinese "girl/boyfriend wear the same clothes" thing.  I
think newlyweds do it on their honeymoon in Japan too.

In China there's a lot of competition to get into the military.
You have to pass all kinds of tests to get in.  In Zhuzhou I see
military guys every once in a while.  I often see these
purple/blue camo dudes with shotguns going in and out of their van
parked in front of banks.  It's scary to have to pass through the
gauntlet.

China's women's volleyball team won gold this year, coming back from
2-0 in the final against Russia.

I think that's real emotion.

That looks real.  I see real anger or fear or sadness so
infrequently that sometimes I believe that there isn't much difference
between the real thing and what you see  in movies.  But it's
really different.

I think it says "post!"

Whoah.  I occasionally see <5' tall women walking around
picking things up around here.  They're kind of in the
background.  It'd be interesting to ask them for stories.

People selling stuff at a stopped train.

bicycle cart guy.

at least they're smiling.

New China

Lots of this when it rains.  These guys all have full body ponchos
around here.

They really love their babies around here.  You never see someone
yelling at their kid, even if they're being really annoying.

Clever and Pretty, Healthy and Lovely

huge hands.

sweet.

japanese sign - "frequent death place - if you cross here rarely you
won't be able to get life insurance money".  Put up by the city
traffic committee.

Whoah.  I hope no other asians see this.  The format
"nonexcited/excited guys" was popular a while back.

Yes.  It's chinese, I can't read it.  Scary?
