mozilla FORCES you to put alt text for images. if you try to quickly insert an image in the page, it pops up a warning and everything! ridiculous.

Be sure to listen at least until they try to get old people to call. I think that's like 15 minutes in.

I got a useful thing for firefox - now the "save as" thing is disabled. Everything I save just goes into a certain directory automatically. It's great.
It even works when I rightclick on an image. Just do save as and the menu disappears and you're done. No fighting to navigate around that tiny box, no dealing with name collisions. It autorenames too.

of course you still have to realize that the stone polished lobby of this building still probably has cigarette butts on the floor.
Netscape jumps on this shit bandwagon.
I just got this error message: "The link could not be saved. The web page might have been removed or had its name changed."
Oh yeah? well how did you fucking display the page then? How come view source still works? They've broken the save button in view source as well. But ctl-a, ctl-c, win-r, write, ctl-v, ctl-s still fucking works.
This stupidity used to be confined to internet explorer.

sometimes i click on a link and then as it's loading in the background, i notice something i still want to check out on the page.
but when i push stop, that action triggers the browser to start displaying the new page, usually resulting in a blank page. that is really annoying.

"Outside the supermarket, Shijiazhuang"
Public space in China.
They had the same thing in Zhuzhou. There was this big square which had traditional music on one side, old guys playing those crazy cymbals, all kinds of other stuff, and singers walking around to different groups singing. On the other side there were people ballroom dancing. During winter they put up a huge tv, blasting out ads. I wonder if anyone will even come out to dance this summer.
I got banned
I got banned from http://www.gobase.org. They're really protective of the content they have there, despite the fact that most of it is public domain - game records and biographies, opening books, 500 year old chinese problem sets, etc. There are also a bunch of articles by contributors.
Everything's hidden behind a free login - to get one you need to prove that you are a member of the american go association or some other association, or else your kgs or igs id. The process isn't automated and it takes a couple days.
Anyway so i was printing out some articles and opened about 20 of them at once, and now I'm banned.
What is it about strategy games that makes the administrators into such total assholes? The admin of IGS are a bunch of jerks - the opening message used to be "there is no expectation of privacy", which meant they'd grep your private messages for mentions of any other go server or any criticism of IGS and ban you without explanation if they found anything. Recently there was some kind of power grab in the AGA with late night meetings, etc. The chess world is the same - there are competing professional organizations who can't agree on how to have a world championship, corruption, tons of infighting.

ways to finish a complete major league baseball game with no pitches.
I think by one pitcher, or even both it could actually be 0.
Isn't there some kind of rule that a ball will be charged if the pitcher does not deliver a pitch in a certain time period. Taking that rule in effect the pitcher does not have to throw a pitch to walk a batter. He then picks off the runner. He does this over and over again until everybody walks and gets picked off. So he could go through a whole game without ever throwing a pitch.
The opposing pitcher could do the same thing but make an error in a pick off attempt moving the runner to second, the catcher can then make a wild throw on a steal attempt to third with the runner scoring.
