If you give money
to a police charity in New
Jersey, they give you a card and a sticker for your car. If you
get pulled over, cops will be lenient with you if you have one.
It's illegal you say? why no - you see, the "card" "proves" that
the "driver" "paid" "money" to the "police" in order not to get a
"ticket". And what's wrong with that?
They should just stock PBA cards in cop cars, so if you get pulled over
you can buy one on the spot, and not have to worry about your insurance
going up.
Oh wait, they already do that - "virtual" PBA cards, that go into your
wallet as soon as you pay the cop, and then disappear as soon as he
decides not to give you a ticket. Save printing costs that way.
As far as I'm concerned, any cop who is influenced by PBA cards is a criminal and guilty of
accepting bribes. Anyone who shows their PBA card to
a cop along with their license is a criminal and guilty of attempting
to bribe a cop. It's short-sighted and selfish. Even the so-called correct use of pba cards is immoral. Just because you are in the family of a cop or have a close friend - nobody gets a free pass. Laws apply to everyone - we are a country of laws, not a country of influence. Look at all the corrupt countries out there - one thing they have in common is massive nepotism, and no rule of law.
Keep destroying the rule of law, and wait til you're on the
bottom. Then you'll regret it.
Everyone seems to forget that although they're on top now, it might not
last forever - and preserving the fair rule of law, freedom for
minorities or people who disaggree, freedom from preferential treatment etc. is the only way to
guarantee your and your descendants
freedom. Unless you are sure that people like you
will rule forever, getting rid of basic freedoms for your temporary
convenience will come back to haunt you.
