i think of it as finding a belief system which others would eventually align to after enough time exploring mind-design. yud's axiom might be that it exists, or that it could exist, and we should try to self-modify to reach some better form (so that we survive, thrive, and wouldn't be hypocritical). to get the right to judge, we should live in their shoes; so we should fairly explore nearby mind-space for better selves, negotiate w/alternate religion/life exp/belief versions of ourselves (or of ais), which self-modification & transhumanism allows, and then see if there's anything we can mostly agree on.
ofc there are some mind designs/upbringings/cultures which are totally locked in; but they're usually arbitrary (insisting on some fixed number of gods or identity of god, all different from each other) so they cancel
the remaining "mind designs which are reachable" is where we want to be, within the set which also survives. i.e. don't do non-evolutionary stable things, don't annihilate your own existence
the experimental period when this happens is Hanson's dreamtime. the longer it is, the more aligned beings might get. Like, I'd have time to test if "me, but raised buddhist and then spending a long time learning all kinds of things & having life experience", plus me the christian, the muslim, the atheist, and a million more, could agree on anything. Yud's axiom is that they would be able to build up trust over time & iterated self-modification and experiencing the other's life realize that there may useful compromises or improvements. just like me, but whose coffee addition is optional, is a better version, and a majority of me would ship that. by iterated self-modification me, a klingon, a high-tech bonobo sex addict etc could all come to a place of agreement about how to live and survive
it'd be obvious we could disregard individuals who get stuck into random specific cult; from the outside it's all the same - if you raise someone intensely enough they never break away; but there are a million such, all with different lore, and they all cancel. But is there a center, where mutual appreciation can happen? a kind of mental ecumenism
those guys would negotiate about how we'll design a mind, body, belief and motivation system, which still of course would have free axes, but would cover all common states which could recognize this as the way to be. so we're expanding the common ground beyond math, physics, basic morality, more and more, finding a large, dominating area where anyone in it, wants to stay in it, yet can tolerate variation in it. become that. also don't get weak or give up
so, me without the hatred for some food I caught while growing up: that me is more aligned to the center. this but on a mental and physical level, also actually tested in battle
in a short dreamtime less of this will have happened so beings will be more themselves, still. they won't have honed in at all. normal feature of the state of optimizations within large vs small ponds
