I've often thought that we underuse actual live tests of competence. If someone can literally pay minesweeper not TOO awfully it means something about their brain. OFC it doesn't necessarily prove the issue under contention but it's info.

Same with the suppsoed claims of the fakeness of IQ and whatnot. If someone can at-will solve the hardest instances of newly-generated Raven's progressive matrices, super fast, well, that'd be something, especially if they weren't otherwise exceptional.

There's lots of talk about the unreliability of IQ tests and all that stuff, but very little examples of "oh yeah I spent a week learning how to do this and let me show you I can get 160 on an IQ test now in a few minutes"

That'd introduce some facts into the room!
