It's really good! Although it's nearly 25 years old, China hasn't changed that much. People at that time also seem quite a bit more open than people today. The current youth generation doesn't know much about the Cultural Revolution, and are a lot more likely to use the "Mao was 70% right, and 30% wrong" quote.

There are some nice quotes, good writing, and descriptions.

The author gets flack for being a jerk, but that's the way he writes & keeps it interesting.
